Bacardi heiress gets $19M for Coral Gables estate.

The sale set a new record for the Cocoplum area

Bacardi heiress, Hilda Maria Bacardi, has sold her Cocoplum estate for $19 million—setting a new record for single family home sales in the Coral Gables subdivision.

Hilda, who is the great great granddaughter of Bacardi founder Facundo Bacardí Masso, listed the 21,000-square-foot “modern Mediterranean” style home in 2016 for $27.26 million.

Known as Casa Costanera, the 1.3-acre property features 13 bedrooms, 15 bathrooms, three kitchens, an elevator, 480 feet of frontage along Coral Gables waterway, and separate quarters for guests and staff.

Bacardi was represented by Barbara Estela & Hilda Jacobson of Douglas Elliman’s Sports & Entertainment Division. Estela and Jacobson declined to comment on the transaction, which closed June 28.

Bacardi Limited is the world’s largest privately held, family-owned spirits company. In addition to its famous namesake rum, the group also owns the brands of Dewar’s, Grey Goose, Martini & Rossi, and Patrón.
