  • Best for: iPhone owners who pay with Apple Pay for most purchases

  • Rewards: 3% at Apple and, with Apple Pay, at select merchants; 2% on other Apple Pay purchases; 1% with the titanium card or card number
  • Rideshare: 3% on most Uber rides and Uber Eats orders paid with Apple Pay; no ride credits to expire; six free months of Uber One for riders who aren’t current members and join through Apple’s link with Apple Pay, then $9.99 a month until canceled; Lyft isn’t on the 3% list
  • Pros: 2% on every Apple Pay purchase; 3% at Apple and Uber; 0% interest on eligible Apple products bought in installments; Wallet estimates interest before you pay
  • Cons: 1% outside Apple with the titanium card or card number; no welcome bonus; needs an iPhone or iPad except at Apple

The Apple Card is a Mastercard for iPhone owners that lives in the Wallet app, where you apply for it, see your spending, and pay the bill. Goldman Sachs is the bank behind the card until Chase takes over, expected about two years after the January 2026 announcement, and Apple says its Daily Cash and no-fee terms continue.

Key Features

  • No annual, foreign transaction, late, or over-the-limit fees
  • Variable interest rate (APR) of 17.74% to 27.99%, depending on your credit
  • 3% Daily Cash at Apple and, with Apple Pay, at select merchants; 2% on other Apple Pay purchases; 1% on everything else
  • Daily Cash paid out as each purchase goes through, to Apple Cash, a Savings account, or a statement credit

Pros

  • 2% on every Apple Pay purchase, with no cap on Daily Cash
  • 3% on most Uber rides and Uber Eats orders paid with Apple Pay
  • 0% interest on the price of eligible products bought from Apple in monthly installments, with 3% Daily Cash up front
  • A Wallet screen that estimates the interest you’d owe for any payment amount
  • No credit score impact from applying unless you accept the offer you’re shown

Cons

  • Just 1% outside Apple with the titanium card or the card number, half of what a card paying 2% on everything earns
  • No welcome bonus for new cardholders
  • Good only for purchases at Apple without an iPhone or iPad

It’s worth getting for iPhone owners who pay with Apple Pay for most purchases, since those earn 2%, or 3% at Apple and Uber, and the card has no annual fee. Shoppers who often pay with the titanium card or the card number, which earn 1% outside Apple, get 2% on everything with a no-annual-fee card such as the Citi Double Cash Card.
