Investment firm co-founders George and Sarah McMahon sold their waterfront mansion in Jupiter’s Admirals Cove neighborhood for $34.5 million.Â
The sale marks a 43 percent increase in price for the home at 176 Spyglass Lane since it last traded. The McMahons, founders of the investment firm American Infrastructure Partners and the company Infrastructure Equipment Group, paid $24 million for the property in 2021, buying from former race car driver Johnny Gray.Â
The buyer is an entity linked to Edward St. John, founder and chairman of Baltimore-based St. John Properties, who appears to have moved houses within the same neighborhood. Last week, St. John sold an Admirals Cove home at 370 Eagle Drive for $12.5 million. That home once belonged to singer Céline Dion.
The deal for the 19,200-square-foot Spyglass Lane house penciled to about $1,796 per square foot. It was homesteaded in the McMahons’ name this year.
The house has five bedrooms, six bathrooms and two half-baths across two stories and sits on 1.5 acres, according to records. It was remodeled in 2023, according to a listing, and has more than 350 feet of water frontage.
It’s in Jupiter’s gated Admirals Cove neighborhood and country club, which includes a golf course and marina.
Rob Thomson of Waterfront Properties represented both sides of the deal. He declined to comment on the transaction. A post to his website adds that the home has a 22-car garage, a home theater and an arcade.
Residents of the Admirals Cove community have included Donald Trump Jr., golfer Dustin Johnson and MLB star Max Scherzer — the latter of whom sold his unfinished mansion at 217 Commodore Drive this year.
A mansion at 160 Spyglass Lane sold earlier this year for $17 million, as did its neighbor, at 158 Spyglass Lane, for $7.9 million.Â
Jupiter residential sales averaged $1.3 million in the first quarter, according to TRD Data, while the county’s average is slightly lower at $1.1 million.
