Your favorite rapper’s favorite rapper just picked up a modern estate in Cooper City.
Young Thug, whose legal name is Jeffery Lamar Williams II, paid $5 million for a seven-bedroom, seven-and-a-half-bathroom home south of Stirling Road and east of Northwest 101st Avenue, The Real Deal has learned.
The Atlanta-born Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter, who helped popularize mumble rap, bought the home through a trust tied to an LLC he manages alongside his manager, music executive Geoff Ogunlesi, property records show. No mortgage was recorded, which suggests it was an all-cash deal.
The 6,000-square-foot house sits on a 2-acre lot in western Broward County. The property was on the market with Compass’ Alan Perez. Jordan Karp of Jordan Karp LLC represented Young Thug, according to the listing.
The house was completed this year and hit the market while it was under construction last year asking $8 million. It was relisted in May for just under $6 million. Records show an LLC led by Ishwar and Suriya Anderson sold the property. They paid $420,000 for the lot in 2018.
Young Thug is a favorite among other big names in music, including Sir Elton John, André 3000, Drake and Lil Uzi Vert. Elton John collaborated with Young Thug on “High” and “Always Love You.”
In 2024, Young Thug was released from jail after spending more than 900 days behind bars on racketeering and drug-related charges. Prosecutors alleged the rap label operated as a gang and was responsible for the majority of violent crime in Florida. He pleaded guilty to one gang charge, three drug charges and two gun charges, PBS News reported at the time. He also entered a no contest plea to two other charges, and his sentence was commuted to time served, plus 15 years of probation.
While celebrities who purchase homes in South Florida tend to flock to the coastline, a handful of others have purchased properties farther west. Last year, internet personality and gaming streamer Adin Ross paid $25.5 million for a 10-acre estate in Davie.
