A former Trump advisor went into contract for two Palm Beach County mansions that would’ve put her near the president’s Mar-a-Lago mansion, but both deals fell through.
Alina Mildon, a former advisor to President Donald Trump, and her husband, Turkish executive Turhan Mildon, planned to buy megamansions in Manalapan and Palm Beach, the Wall Street Journal reported. But the deals ultimately didn’t close, four people familiar with the situation told the newspaper.
One of the homes the couple was eyeing is at 640 South Ocean Boulevard in Manalapan, listed for $72.5 million, or $4,170 per square foot. The property measures 17,380 square feet across a seven-bedroom, nine-bathroom and four half-bath main house, plus two guest houses. It sits on 1.86 acres with 155 feet of ocean frontage.
The Mildons put down a deposit of several hundred thousand dollars but failed to pay subsequent payments, ultimately losing their deposit, the newspaper said. The property is listed as pending as of Friday. Jack Elkins of William Raveis Real Estate has the listing.
The same thing reportedly happened on another property, a Palm Beach estate at 2315 South Ocean Boulevard. The couple reportedly put down a deposit on the $65 million mansion but didn’t follow through before the closing deadline.
That waterfront house measures 14,320 square feet with seven bedrooms, 11 bathrooms and two half-baths. It’s listed as leased, with a rent of $150,000 per month.
The couple changed their minds on the houses, their broker, Simon Isaacs of Simon Isaacs Real Estate, told the newspaper, adding that the couple had the funds to purchase.
Alina Mildon, formerly known as Alina Habba, sparked controversy recently, after she signed a $50 million contract with Venezuelan banker Julio Herrera Velutini, who was seeking a presidential pardon for felony bribery charges. Velutini hired Mildon as an attorney and was pardoned shortly thereafter. Trump said last week that it was “not acceptable at all” for Mildon to have secured a contract of that size while she worked for the U.S. Department of Justice. She has denied playing a role in the pardon.
Like Palm Beach, Manalapan is known as an enclave for ultra-wealthy residents. Larry Ellison made the island his home beginning in 2022 with the $173 million purchase of a 16-acre compound, which he expanded this year for another $34.4 million.
Other big-name residents have included Fox News personality Sean Hannity, WeatherTech founder David MacNeil and musician Billy Joel.
