OCR Studio, a developer of identity document verification and bank card scanning solutions, and FinOn, a provider of modular payment infrastructure, announce a partnership to explore how their technologies can help businesses strengthen security and improve the customer experience across onboarding and online payments.
The collaboration focuses on three stages of the customer journey: identity document verification, card data capture, and payment authentication. The intended benefits include less manual data entry, greater control over where sensitive information is processed, and fewer unnecessary verification steps at checkout. OCR Studio contributes document verification and local scanning capabilities, while FinOn brings payment authentication technology for payment acceptance providers and card issuers.

OCR Studio’s OCR ID-verify captures identity document data, checks document authenticity, and cross-validates visual fields against machine-readable zones, barcodes, and NFC chip data, where supported by the document and deployment environment. The solution operates directly on the user’s device or within the business’s own infrastructure.
OCR BANK-scan simplifies card entry by capturing card numbers, expiry dates, cardholder names, and other supported fields. Like all other OCR Studio technologies, it can run on the user’s device, in the browser, or within the business’s on-premises server, without requiring card data to be sent to OCR Studio or external scanning services for recognition.
FinOn provides payment authentication technology for both the acquiring and issuing sides of a transaction. Its 3D Secure Server and mobile SDKs support authentication across browser and mobile app payment flows. The server enables merchants, PSPs, and acquirers to initiate and manage 3D Secure authentication, while the SDKs support authentication within iOS and Android applications.
For card issuers and processors, FinOn’s Access Control Server (ACS) evaluates transaction risk and applies issuer-defined policies, supporting frictionless authentication where appropriate and additional cardholder verification when required. These capabilities help issuers manage fraud risk while limiting unnecessary checkout interruptions. On-premises deployment options also give businesses control over their authentication environment and data handling.
