Owning South Florida? Jessica Taylor leaves Serhant, joins Douglas Elliman

Jessica Taylor of “Owning Manhattan” fame left Serhant and joined Douglas Elliman, making the drive down to South Florida from New York this past weekend. 

Taylor, known for her role on the Netflix show that follows brokerage founder Ryan Serhant, left his firm and moved to Palm Beach. On Instagram, where she has nearly 40,000 followers, she said there is “no bad blood whatsoever” between her and her former firm, praising her time with Serhant. She told The Real Deal she expected to spend her entire career at Serhant. Taylor joined Ravi Kantha’s team in 2024. 

“I’ve had a great time. I’ve been there for five years. When I joined, I was agent No. 20. We were working in a tiny townhouse in Tribeca. Now we have over 1,000 agents in New York alone, and I think we’re in like 12 to 15 states,” she said on Instagram. 

In a statement, Ryan Serhant wished her well, and said he looks forward to “many deals together.”

Last year, she was involved in deals totaling more than $100 million in closed dollar volume; her career sales total over $500 million, according to Elliman. She specializes in luxury sales and new developments and is licensed in Florida and New York.

The move was prompted by the opportunity to work on the sales team for Banyan Tree Residences West Palm Beach. Camilo Miguel Jr.’s Mast Capital and Curated JCZM Development launched the project earlier this year, which will mark the brand’s first development in the U.S. 

Taylor had been looking to move to Florida and met with a number of developers. The market is “booming and it is great to be in the heart of it,” she said. “I knew I wanted to be in West Palm Beach and this was the best project.” 

Banyan Tree is a subsidiary of the Singapore-based hospitality giant Banyan Group, which has a portfolio of luxury hotels and residential communities primarily in Asia and the Middle East. 

The change in her license marks a return to Elliman for Taylor, who worked on the Eklund-Gomes team between 2015 and 2016. From there, she jumped to the Corcoran Group before joining Serhant in 2021. Before real estate, Taylor worked for UBS as a recruiter.

Taylor plans to tap into her client base and social media reach to secure deals at Banyan Tree. 

“From the show I have an amazing international exposure,” she said. “And Banyan Tree is very well-known across Asia and Europe.”
