Real REMAX Group Inc. has completed the previously announced business combination between The Real Brokerage Inc. and REMAX Holdings Inc., creating a technology-enabled, global real estate platform with more than 180,000 agents worldwide, the companies announced on Monday.
Effective at the close of trading today, Real’s common shares and REMAX Holdings’ Class A common stock stopped trading on the Nasdaq Global Select Market and the New York Stock Exchange, respectively. Beginning Aug. 25, 2026, shares of the combined company will trade on the Nasdaq under the ticker symbol “REAX,” according to the announcement.
Under the Arrangement Agreement and Plan of Merger, former Real shareholders received, following a 10-for-1 share consolidation, one share of Real REMAX Group common stock for each Real common share held.
“This acquisition marks a significant milestone on our journey to build a technology platform that empowers real estate professionals and improves the consumer experience,” Tamir Poleg, chairman and CEO of Real REMAX Group, said in the announcement. “Bringing together Real’s technology and operating model with REMAX’s global reach and franchise model is a transformational moment for the industry.”
The combined company brings together Real’s cloud-based brokerage and equity-heavy agent compensation model with REMAX’s long-established global franchise network. Real REMAX Group now oversees more than 180,000 agents across over 120 countries and territories, including more than 100,000 agents in the U.S. and Canada, according to the release.
Real REMAX Group said its goal is to create a more integrated platform that combines brokerage, franchising and ancillary services with proprietary technology to support agents and broker/owners while offering more seamless consumer experiences.
In an email sent to employees, Poleg said the closed merger marked an “exciting day” for both companies.
“Today, REMAX is an iconic global brand with a presence in more than 120 countries and territories, decades of consumer trust, and thousands of broker/owners who are the backbone of their local markets,” Poleg wrote. “Real brings a technology platform we built ourselves, AI that is already operating at scale, an economic model designed for the way agents actually run their businesses, a collaborative community of passionate agents, and strong momentum. Neither are easy to build. Together, they will create something truly unique in our industry.”
Poleg also reassured employees and agents that REMAX and Real would retain their identities and that the franchise model would remain.
REMAX stays REMAX
“If you are a REMAX agent or broker/owner, nothing about your business changed when you woke up this morning. If you are a Real agent, the same is true,” he wrote.
Poleg also noted that the Real REMAX Group plans to focus on growth by making Real’s technology and AI tools available across the network, expanding mortgage and title services, and helping agents and brokers build more successful businesses. Rather than relying on agents moving between Real and REMAX, he said the firm will prioritize attracting new agents, strengthening referrals and collaboration across its 180,000-agent network and reinvigorating the REMAX brand. The group also committed to protecting agents’ and franchisees’ existing businesses and independence, communicating changes early and directly and maintaining an ongoing dialogue with its network. This dialogue includes an open invitation for agents to tell the company what they do and do not like.
“Don’t be polite about problems. Real REMAX Group is a global network of more than 180,000 real estate professionals who know this industry better than anyone. We want to hear where the friction is, what isn’t working and what we can do better,” Poleg wrote.
“This is the beginning of a new era for both companies. Real and REMAX agents are among the most trusted professionals in real estate, and we are committed to building a platform that helps all agents and brokers succeed for the next 50 years and beyond,” he added. “But we won’t get there through decisions made at the top. We will get there by listening to each other, challenging each other and being willing to compromise – while never losing sight of our north star: constantly finding ways to make agents’ lives better.”
